Google is launching a new feature in its Gemini app called “scheduled actions,” designed to help users automate tasks and stay organized. However, access to this tool will be limited to certain users.
Scheduled actions allow users to schedule tasks for a specific time or turn an existing prompt into a recurring action. For example, users can set Gemini to provide a daily summary of their calendar and unread emails each morning. It can also generate blog ideas every Monday or deliver regular updates on events, sports teams, or celebrities.
“Now you can wake up with a summary of your calendar and unread emails, or get a creative boost by having Gemini write five ideas for your blog every Monday,” Google said in a statement.
While the feature adds flexibility and convenience, it’s not available to all users. Scheduled actions are currently limited to those with a Google AI Pro or Ultra subscription, as well as users with certain Google Workspace business or education plans.
Eligible users can manage and customize their scheduled tasks through the “scheduled actions” section in the Gemini app’s settings.
This rollout follows Google’s April release of Gemini 2.5 Pro in experimental mode for all users, though with usage limits. Google has confirmed that Gemini 2.5 will eventually become the default model across all Gemini apps.
