IPVanish has teamed up with the United Rugby Championship (URC) to launch the “First Line of Defence” campaign, emphasizing the critical role of cybersecurity in professional rugby.
While IPVanish may not always be the top contender among VPN services, it is a trusted and reliable provider known for its commitment to online privacy and security. As a founding member of the VPN Trust Initiative (VTI), IPVanish is dedicated to advancing digital safety across the internet.
IPVanish believes that online protection should extend beyond your devices and become an integral part of everyday life.
A Campaign Focused on Education and Awareness
The URC is a professional rugby league that includes top-tier clubs from Ireland, Italy, Scotland, South Africa, and Wales. This partnership aims to raise awareness, educate fans, players, and teams on the importance of digital security.
Through the “First Line of Defence” campaign, IPVanish will support the league’s Television Match Officials (TMOs), who play a vital role in using video replays to assist referees with key decisions during matches. IPVanish’s involvement aims to enhance how decisions are communicated to both live audiences and viewers at home.
“Whether it’s on the field or online, everyone needs to protect their home,” said Subbu Sthanu, General Manager of IPVanish. “This partnership allows us to engage with a passionate, tech-savvy audience and highlight the importance of security and privacy in daily life.”
In an interview with Tom’s Guide in December 2024, Sthanu referred to the future of digital privacy as “a game of chess we need to play,” stressing the ongoing battle to protect personal data in a digital world.
For the 2025/26 URC season, fans will have access to exclusive content, smart online safety tips, and tools designed to help protect their digital lives.
URC CEO Martin Anayi also shared his thoughts on the collaboration, noting, “Working with tech-based partners like IPVanish opens up new opportunities to enhance our league’s business and support our clubs in both sporting and business goals.”
