Sophos has officially launched version 21.5 of its firewall, now available to all licensed partners and customers. The release follows a busy and successful early access program.
This new version introduces a groundbreaking feature—Network Detection and Response (NDR)—which helps identify threats actively moving across networks. Sophos becomes the first cybersecurity provider to fully integrate an NDR solution into a firewall.
To ensure high performance, Sophos has moved all NDR analysis processing to the Sophos Cloud. This innovative cloud-based design means the firewall handles no extra processing, keeping speeds and performance unaffected.
The company is calling the new feature NDR Essentials. It is available at no additional cost for all customers using XGS Series firewalls with the Xstream Protection license bundle.
The update adds even more value to Sophos Firewall’s capabilities, especially for organizations using Extended Detection and Response (XDR) and Managed Detection and Response (MDR) tools.
With this release, Sophos continues to push boundaries in integrated cybersecurity, making advanced network protection more accessible and efficient.
