Zyxel Networks has been named a Champion in both firewall and VPN categories in the 2025 Professional User Rating: Security Solutions survey, conducted by techconsult.
Techconsult, an independent research firm under the Heise Group in Germany, gathered feedback from more than 4,500 IT professionals. Participants rated products based on user-friendliness, reliability, functionality, and overall customer satisfaction.
The annual survey ranks vendors by two main criteria: Solution/Technology Excellence and Company Excellence. Zyxel Networks was one of only nine companies awarded Champion status for network firewalls and one of just seven to earn the same recognition for VPN solutions.
Zyxel’s firewall products received high marks for being easy to use and reliable. Users also praised their strong functionality and compliance features. In the network firewall category, Zyxel achieved the highest customer satisfaction rating among all vendors. Customers highlighted the quality of support from Zyxel’s consultants and partners, as well as regular improvements to the products.
In the VPN category, Zyxel was rated highly for performance, usability, and specific benefits. Users noted the company’s innovation and ability to customize solutions. Zyxel again led in customer satisfaction, taking the top spot for both its VPN product and company service.

The survey results are presented through techconsult’s “PUR diamond,” which visually compares vendor performance based on real customer input. In the 2025 edition, 23 vendors were analyzed for firewall solutions, and 21 for VPNs. Only companies with strong, consistent positive feedback were included.
Raphael Napieralski, an analyst at techconsult, said, “Firewalls and VPNs are essential for network security. They need to be effective, easy to use, and well-supported. Zyxel’s Champion status shows it delivers on all fronts—strong protection, user-friendly design, innovation, and high customer satisfaction.”
In the survey, a network firewall was defined as any solution—hardware, software, or cloud-based—that protects networks. VPNs included any tools that create secure links between devices and corporate networks.
