Founded in 2001, EC-Council offers over 600 training programs, certifications, and degrees in cybersecurity. Their courses cover a wide range of topics such as Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), Computer Hacking Forensics Investigator (CHFI), Certified Penetration Testing Professional (CPENT), Security Analysis, Threat Intelligence, and Information Security.
Women in CyberSecurity Middle East was established in 2018 to promote and increase women’s participation in cybersecurity. The network now has over 300 members. They receive training, education, career coaching, mentorship, and access to various events.
Together, EC-Council and Women in CyberSecurity Middle East have launched CyberSHE. This is a 4-week program designed to help women who want to start careers in cybersecurity. It provides both technical training and interpersonal skills development.
Their shared goal is to train 1,500 women over the next three years. This supports their mission to strengthen national cyber capabilities and encourage a more inclusive workforce.
The CyberSHE curriculum is delivered by experts from government, academia, and industry. It lasts three weeks and includes career-readiness modules. These cover mentorship, soft skills, and insights into the cybersecurity industry.
CyberSHE officially launched in Kuwait and will soon expand to other countries in the region, including the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Bahrain, Jordan, and Qatar.
Jay Bavisi, President of EC-Council, said, “Through CyberSHE, we are opening the door to global-standard training, mentorship, and new career paths for women across the region. This initiative shows how purposeful collaboration creates lasting opportunities. We are proud to support it, and we believe it is just the beginning of a bigger movement to shape the future of cyber talent in the Middle East.”
Reem Faraj AlShammari, Chairperson of Women in CyberSecurity Middle East, added, “Through CyberSHE, we aim to create a generation of empowered, job-ready women professionals in cybersecurity.”
Since it was founded, EC-Council has certified more than 350,000 professionals worldwide. Their clients include government agencies and Fortune 100 companies.
